Long Beach Peninsula artists Marie Powell and Penny Treat combine their talents in this show dedicated to the revered lighthouses at Cape Disappointment and North Head, and the historic Columbia River Lightship. Both artists employ a variety of painting, printmaking, and mixed-media techniques to depict these treasured icons of the North Coast. Powell is recognized for creative mixed media works that combine delicately complex layers of printmaking, collage, and painting to create stylized interpretations of subjects in vibrant colors. Treat has achieved recognition for large-scale colored woodblock prints that are detailed and expressive. She is adept at capturing movement in landscape with a naturalistic flow.
