Many of us had imaginary friends in our childhood, but Jane Terzis had a private club of them. She began painting people when she was four years old and never stopped. Today she creates invented portraits of fictional children, characters brimming with life and so full of distinctive personalities that we are compelled to believe we've met them somewhere. Terzis often adds context with landscape elements and background figures to give situational drama to her subjects imaginary lives.
